HUNDREDS of runners took to the Ribble Valley's highways and byways in a post Christmas road race.
The annual festive run attracted athletes from all over the country as well as East Lancashire enthusiasts.
The race took runners from Clitheroe's Edisford Road swimming pool along a rural route towards Longridge and back for a 10km round trip.
Race organiser Paul Carbery, a pool supervisor for Ribble Valley Borough Council, said: "The Christmas race has always been popular and this year over 400 runners from as far away as London took part.
"All proceeds go towards the Mayor's charity for local good causes."
First to finish was Neil Wilkinson of Salford Harriers followed by Jason Lobo of Blackburn and Mark Croasdale of Bingley Harriers.
