AWARD winning actress Angela Boulds is taking to the stage in St Stephen's AODS popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel.
There is plenty of talent in the principal line-up with Angela Boulds, winner of the NODA North West award for best actress in a musical for her role in the society's last musical Calamity Jane, playing the exuberant Carrie Pipperidge.
Barbara Simpson returns to the stage after many years concentrating on producing shows for local societies to play Mrs Mullin, the owner of the carousel. Elaine Taberner, a St Stephen's regular, plays Julie Jordan, Billy Bigelow will be played by Scott Campbell, a former Burnley BASICS member, and Kevin Rawcliffe plays Mr Snow. Paul Rogers is cast as the 'baddie' Jigger Craigin, and his father, Brian Rogers, repeats one of his favourite roles, the Starkeeper. Anne Allcock is Nettie. Producer and musical director is Brian Townend and Jennie Miller is the choreo- grapher.
The principal line-up is backed by an enthusiastic chorus, Snow children and a very inventive stage team.
The show starts on February 19 to 24, at St Stephen's School, Woodgrove Road, Burnley. Tickets are on sale next week.
