I WELCOME the news (LET, January 11) that Darwen Town Hall is to become a "nerve centre," serving the needs of a thriving town.
However, I feel that there is a long way to go before the council fully appreciates that there are two towns in the borough of Blackburn.
There are, for example, many items of merchandise available from the council depicting Blackburn's coat of arms. Sadly, none is available with Darwen's equivalent.
It is surely wrong to allow our proud heritage to be lost in this way.
TARIQ AHMED (Mr), Hollins Grove Street, Darwen.
