YOUR Opinion (LET, January 15) says "Voters know who is to blame for those cuts." But do they?
Do you seriously suggest that capping should be removed from the Labour-controlled councils which have demonstrated time and time again that they have no monetary sense or concern as they indulge in indiscriminate binge spending.
Labour use education, which is a highly emotive subject, as a football to try and make political capital, as shown by this latest example aimed at new voters.
Have we to believe that a council with nearly £1 billion to spend could not find a measly £6 million by prudent and efficient management?
Lancashire Education Authority was put under the spotlight with teachers taking redundancy then returning as supply teachers for some extra perks.
We had fully-qualified teachers attempting to look after the maintenance and improvement of buildings - no wonder many are in a bad state of repair.
They should do what they are trained for and leave the buildings to people who know.
