A BLACKPOOL favourite is set to return to the resort in the form of top comic Michael Barrymore.
The star of My Kind of People will perform at the Opera House for a week in April, much to the joy of local fans.
When Barrymore was last at the venue, it marked the relaunch of his career after his victory over alcoholism.
He had been out of the public eye to fight the battle, but swept triumphantly back into it with his record-breaking show at the Winter Gardens in 1994.
Barrymore broke all box office records in the five-week run and the emotional reception given to him by his Fylde fans prompted Michael's promise to return to the top entertainment spot.
Craig Smith, general manager of the Opera House, said: "We are delighted to have Michael back as during his last visit he promised fans he would return to the venue as soon as commitments allowed.
"He has kept that promise and I am sure that this visit will repeat the previous success story."
Michael Barrymore's show runs from April 15 - 20 and tickets are now available from the Opera House Box Office on (01253) 27786.
