CHANGES in the Bury's nursery school admission policy are to be updated - but education chiefs say they will still ensure that the needs of youngsters are met.
Bury Metro's education committee chairman Paul Ainscough explained that in making the changes advice had been sought from schools as well as an under eights working group.
He added that any parent or guardian can enter their child's name on a nursery list for consideration for a place, and that there is no charge for authority maintained schools.
"We have put together a list of admissions which will be weighted towards the needs of the parent or carer as well as the home circumstance" he declared.
The new policy was expected to be rubber-stamped at a meeting of the Education Committee as the Journal went to press last night.
