WHY is Blackburn Council thinking of taking another of our services away, with the future of the public toilet attendants' posts being under consideration?
I am told that, from April, the toilets will be opened in the mornings by the road sweepers and that there will only be one person on duty in the afternoons to clean all the public toilets in Blackburn and Darwen.
Do our councillors not realise how many drug addicts, perverts and winos hang around the toilets?
They should do - as they have had enough reports about needles being found in them and incidents with drunks, etc.
What happens if someone is taken ill or has a heart attack? - which has happened in the past when it has only been through the quick action of an attendant that a life has been saved.
I am sure that members of the public would rather pay a small charge than lose this service.
Think again, councillors - and leave it alone.
