A WARNING about deadly drugs has been issued after a doctor's bag was stolen from a car in Oswaldtwistle.
The brown leather briefcase contained class A controlled drugs, syringes and some used syringes in a sharps box.
Detective Inspector Jim Oldcorn, head of Accrington CID, warned: "In the wrong hands these drugs could have potentially lethal consequences."
The dangerous drugs include three ampoules each of diamorphine, adrenaline and atropine, two ampoules of diazepam, two capsules of diazepam, and one ampoule of peth- idine.
The doctor's bag also contained pain killers including aspirin and paracetamol, asthma inhalers and anti- biotics.
DI Oldcorn said: "If anyone finds any of these these in a vulnerable position where children might pick them up, they should take possession of them and bring them into the police station."
The car was broken into in New Lane, Oswaldtwistle, in the early hours of Saturday.
Anyone with information about the car break-in or the whereabouts of the drugs should contact Accrington CID on 382141, or any police officer.
