COUNCIL road sweeper Gerry Newton will receive his MBE at Buckingham Palace on March 12.
Gerry, 56, is still on cloud nine after being honoured by the Queen for his services to the community in Rishton.
Gerry, of Derby Street, Accrington, said: "I'm very excited and looking forward to the day."
His wife, Kathleen, will be travelling down to London with him to watch the investiture ceremony.
