YOUR recent revelations regarding a certain prospective parliamentary candidate's seeming dishonesty on his CV has promoted me to write, expressing my utter disgust.
I felt sick to learn that this person had apparently succeeded in supplying misleading information and, it would seem, received absolutely no reprimand whatsoever.
Any ordinary person would, I think, be dismissed from any position of employment or, at least, be severely reprimanded for falsifying any application.
It has made me wonder whether the qualifications, which I returned to full time education to acquire five years ago, have been achieved in vain when it seems gaining them legitimately counts for nothing. Despite possessing a degree, among other qualifications, I cannot even get an interview for any kind of employment.
I slave away completing application forms, knowing all the time that they will not even be given the time of day, when this prospective parliamentary candidate can just supply misleading information and seemingly get away with it.
What concerns me more, however, is the fact that people of this kind actually make it more difficult for honest people to gain employment.
It is, after all, because so many have supplied misleading information on application forms that employers are now using stringent measures to ensure the integrity of those applying to them.
At the age of 28, I have no job, nor any prospect of a career and am also in considerable personal debt with no hope of receiving any pension to speak of - because I took the trouble to gain my qualifications honestly.
