CHURCH members have given their new vicar a friendly welcome
The Bishop of Burnley, the Right Rev Martyn Jarrett, and Archdeacon of Blackburn, David Robinson, were among the dignitaries who attended the induction service of the Rev Paul Carter at the Church of the Saviour, Blackburn.
Mr Carter studied at London Bible College and taught religious studies in a secondary school in Staffordshire.
He was ordained in Lichfield Cathedral in 1991 and spent four-and-a-half years as a curate in Penkridge, south Staffordshire.
"I have found the people here very friendly," he said. "They have worked incredibly hard to get things ready for me and I just hope I can live up to their expectations."
