A CARING couple have boosted the £1 million SuperScan appeal as they prepare for their big day.
Eileen Massey, 56 and Peter Sumner, 62, announced their engagement at Longshaw Lane Working Men's Club in Blackburn.
But, instead of accepting engagement gifts, they asked family and friends to make a donation to the SuperScan.
Eileen, 56, of Longshaw Lane, Blackburn, said: "We managed to raise £300.
"We both have our own homes and do not really need anything in the way of presents.
"The SuperScan appeal seems a really worthwhile cause."
