IWOULD like to compliment the Lancashire Evening Telegraph on its Internet service.
I was born and lived in the Blackburn area for 35 years and have lived in Phoenix, Arizona, for the last six. The items that you feature provide a nostalgic reminder of life in a northern town, which is truly unique.
But I have to take issue with John Rockett, an American living in England. His interpretation of the Superbowl and the festivities surrounding the event (LET, January 25).
He comments: "The whole family go to the stadium to watch it and they take along a huge picnic." Mr Rockett has obviously been away too long.
Last weekend Phoenix was host to Superbowl Thirty. Hotels and rental cars were sold out 12 months in advance. All air travel into and out of Phoenix was full and tickets to the game, which, if you could have got them at the $500 face value, were changing hands at upwards of $2,000.
My comment for Mr Rockett would be if had intended going to the game, he would have needed to take along his American Express.
