YOUNG Chavala Parker is the envy of all her classmates after revealing a family secret - her uncle works with chart-toppers Boyzone.

Ten-year-old Chavala and her friends from King Edward VII and Queen Mary school in Lytham are big fans of the Irish heart-throbs and were thrilled when they discovered her family connection.

All was revealed in a show-and-tell gathering when youngsters were asked to bring in and talk about their most prized possessions.

Many class members took along a favourite teddy or pillow, but Chavala brought a stack of Boyzone memorabilia from her uncle, Louis Parker, the band's agent.

The hoard included T-shirts, a book signed by each member of the group, a mug, a hat and much more.

Chavala, of North Park Drive, Blackpool, didn't realise her uncle was connected with the band until she saw his name on their Said and Done album.

She said: "When I realised it was my uncle I jumped out of my seat with surprise.

"I really like the band and my mum and dad arranged for him to send me some things which I brought to school."

Chavala's friend Alexandra Preston, aged nine, said: "We were all really surprised when Chavala brought all the Boyzone things. Now everyone wants to be her friend."

Chavala's classmates are now hoping they will see the group in concert or even meet them in person thanks to their schoolmate's family connection.
