Enda Brady talks to PNE boss Peters on the final push!
Preston boss Gary Peters can't wait to get back to league action and the tense fight for promotion at the top of the table.
"There's a long way to go yet," said the workaholic who has turned North End into a force to be feared. "The boys are shaping up very well.
"We're in a decent position and I think we've got a better second half to the season which should set us up nicely."
Gillingham and Chester look set to battle it out up until the final day of the season. The pundits expected the Gills' challenge to fade, but they have all been proved wrong as the Kent outfit recorded result after result.
Chester City, inspired by the experienced Cyril Regis, are also prepared to slug it out for the Third Division title.
"I can't see Gillingham slipping up, but it's up to us to make sure that we overtake them," said Peters. The high-flying PNE boss reckons Wigan, Bury and Plymouth will all feature in the promotion shake-up at the end of the season.
"They are all threats," added Peters. "It's my job to ensure that Preston keep up the momentum and I believe we will."
The scene is set for an intriguing climax to the promotion tussle, but don't mention the run-in to Gary Peters!
"There's a long way to go yet. A long way!"
