GREAT Harwood have signed former Barnoldswick professional Chris Killen as their pro for the coming season.
The Vaux Ribblesdale League side regarded Killen's experience as crucial as they have a young side for the 1996 campaign.
Killen, from South Canberra, Australia, was instrumental in Barnoldswick winning the league in 1992 and topped the league batting averages in 1993. A medium-fast bowler and right-handed batsman, Killen also has experience in the Marsden BS Lancashire League.
In 1990 he replaced the injured professional at Enfield and two years ago was employed by Colne.
He replaces fellow Australian Paul Hutchison who inspired the Cliffe Park team to victory in last year's Ramsbottom Cup. Hutchison is keen to return to the local cricket scene and can be contacted through officials at Great Harwood.
