WHAT a farce for Mr F Crompton (Letters, February 19) to criticise Coun Eileen Entwistle. He says he is concerned about Darwen, yet condemns her for the many improvements she has been involved with, including Sudell community centre, the play area at Olive Lane and much more.
Why criticise her for doing exactly what you want, Mr Crompton? If it's not politics, then what's your motive?
Like Paul Browne and many other councillors, she is Darren born and bred. And like others, does a good job. I proposed the development of Ashton Park and have worked voluntarily with other people to provide this asset to the community. Throughout, many councillors gave their support without politics being involved, that's the way forward - by all working together. Unfortunately, I was forced out by several politically-minded people with no regard for our community.
Many people have shown their feelings regarding this saga and I will be accepting Coun Foster's invitation, along with that of the park watch co-ordinator, to once again become involved.
I would also thank Councillor Dave Smith for supporting my proposal for yellow lines at Mill Gap. Once installed, they will provide a better view for drivers who live at Ashton to gain access to Bolton Road.
You see, Mr Crompton, I use my councillors. And, it's funny, every time, I get full satisfaction. So stop grunting about your "concern" when that, it seems, is not your real motive.
F HULL (Mr), Ashton Road, Darwen.
