ADRIAN HEATH was today named as Burnley's new manager - 24 hours after watching his son being born.

The former Claret, Stoke City, Everton, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Espanol star was overjoyed at the double celebration.

He beamed: "Yesterday was a day I'll never forget and I feel like I've won the pools - twice!

"First I was told about my appointment and then I saw my beautiful baby son being born."

The 35-year-old former Burnley skipper and fans' choice left Turf Moor only 10 weeks ago to become assistant manager at Sheffield United.

Yesterday he rushed to his wife Jane's bedside as she gave birth to their first son Harrison who weighed in at seven and a half pounds.

The couple already have a four-year-old daughter Megan.

Then today he was introduced to a packed media conference by chairman Frank Teasdale who announced he was the board's unanimous choice as new manager.
