ROCK FM DJ Andy Roberts was left with the sound of silence when his record collection worth more than £20,000 was stolen from the boot of his car.
They were taken from outside Park Hall nightclub, Charnock Richard on Thursday night while Andy and fellow DJ Mark Kaye were doing their weekly spot.
And at first he thought it was a joke!
Andy, who is head of music and production at the station, said: "Mark left before me and suddenly came running back telling me my car had disappeared. I thought he was lying as we're all practical jokers.
The car was later found by police. The thieves had left the car radio and cassette player and had gone straight for the record collection in the boot.
Also gone was Andy's exclusive package of jingles he had painstakingly recorded over the past month and 200 CD singles.
He said: "Basically my past two and a half years of work for the radio has been wiped out. It's so frustrating."
Andy is appealing for Citizen readers to come forward if they have any information on the missing music, but he doesn't hold out much hope. He said: "I'm very annoyed and depressed about the whole thing."
