PUNCH BOWL kept their first clean sheet of the season to keep top spot in their section of the Carl Brown Memorial Trophy.
They beat George V1 1-0 thanks to a cracker from Curtis Cooper, shotting in from the edge of the box.
Spurred on by Dean Lord, George tried hard to get back in this Leigh & District Amateur Football League thriller.
Also staying on top of their section are Royal Oak who beat Leigh Eagles A a flattering 4-1, Paul Cotterill 2, Dave Calland and Kevin Mullin on target, Greg Anderson getting one back.
Westleigh A went on the rampage with an 8-2 romp against Queens with goals from Matt Smith 2, Pete Baron 2, Rob Marsden, John Marsden, Chris Sanderson and Martin Lavery. Queens replied via John Beavan and Nicholas Harrison.
Three Crowns A beat Blue Lion (who finished with nine men) 3-0.
In Division Two the top four sides all drew.
Higher Fold were disappointed with a 2-2 tie against lowly Leigh Phoenix who were down to a Warren Knowles double but clawed back through Wayne Pitchford and Nick Causby.
Then, in the dying seconds, Knowles missed a sitter that would have given him a hat-trick and his team the win!
Westleigh B and Union B settled for 3-3, Union twice coming from behind. Goals from Jason Lee (all three for Westleigh), Colin Nemis, Craig Mullaney and Steve Boardman.
Our House scored a 1-1 draw with Three Crowns B, who went ahead through Gary McDonald. Mick Thorpe equalised with a cracking own goal from 20 yards out!
Rileys beat Pheasant Rovers 4-0, goals from Gary Roberts, Elliott Hayden, Andy Yeldon and Chris Smith.
Butchers beat Leigh Eagles B 4-0, goals from Craig Webster 2, Gary Newby and Martin Hughes.
Four for Albion (Martin Thomas, John Battersby, Tony Barker, Jimmy Smith).
But Ross's Wanderers replied with two for 4-2 (Bryn Jones, his first of the season, Paul Nixon).
