BURNLEY striker David Eyres welcomed the news of Adrian Heath's appointment at Turf Moor and declared: "He will make a good manager."
Eyres added: "I'm delighted with the news and I am sure most of the lads will be very pleased as well.
"This appointment will give everybody at Burnley a major boost. I think it will give Burnley the lift it so badly needs. Adrian Heath was an extremely popular player here and I believe he will do a good job. Our fans will welcome the appointment."
Defender Gary Parkinson also welcomed the news and joined Eyres in praise of the new Turf Moor player-manager.
"I'm personally pleased Adrian Heath has got the job because he bases his philosophy on football on the passing game," said Parkinson.
"It is now up to everybody to prove themselves to him over the next 16 games and make sure we improve our league position. We need to get our confidence back. I'm sure Adrian will get everybody on their toes again.
"Adrian has got a big job and it will be very interesting to see how he approaches it."
