SICK youngsters were evacuated from a hospital children's ward after flooding caused a breakdown in the heating system.
Water in the basement cellar of the nurses' home at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, was up to two-and-a-half feet deep in places, according to the deputy unit administrator. Ten children in the only affected ward, CH3, were evacuated to wards at Park Lee Hospital and Blackburn Infirmary.
