ANGRY residents will have to wait another weekend before action is taken against an illegal gypsy camp.
Six gypsy caravans have set up home off Bolton Road, Ewood, close to the council-run site for travellers and the county council skid pan.
Residents have complained strongly about the unwelcome guests.
But Blackburn Council, which owns the land, says it will have to wait until next week to remove them.
The gypsies were given notice to move on yesterday by council staff but no stronger action will be taken until next week if they do not go over the weekend.
"The raids have got to be with the co-operation of the police and they cannot come at a moment's notice, " said a council spokesman.
"The eviction would take a lot longer if it was on private land, because it would have to go through the courts."
One local resident, who did not want to be named, said: "A lot of people are fed up with this. It's just not on."
