A 32-YEAR-old former club doorman appeared in court today accused of murdering Darwen man David Spencer.
Daniel Law Holden, of Clarence Street, Darwen, is accused of killing the 41-year-old unemployed alcoholic at his home, also on Clarence Street, last week.
The victim's body was found at his home when the fire brigade were called to an incident there last Friday morning.
Holden, wearing a white shirt and a grey suit, appeared in the dock for five minutes at Blackburn magistrates court. His greying hair was tied in a ponytail and he had a close-shaved goaty beard.
Mr Kendal Lindley successfully applied for a remand in custody for seven days, awaiting committal to the Crown Court.
Mr Ian Holland, defending, made no application for bail.
