A SCHOOL'S exam success story is to be held up as an example to others in a national report published this week.
The achievements of Ivy Bank High School, Burnley, are included in a report headed Target Setting to Raise Standards of Achievement by the Office for Standards in Education and the Department of Education and Employment.
It is based on two visits to the school by senior Government inspectors who praised the improved exam results, school management and commitment to students.
Head teacher Stephen Ball said: "I am very fortunate in leading such an excellent staff. I am certain that this acknowledgement and their professionalism is fully justified, and I have no doubt that what has happened here is just a beginning.
"We will continue to build on these very secure foundations in order to provide the best start in life to our young people."
Ivy Bank is one of just 14 schools elected to be featured in the report.
