YOUNGSTERS from Broadway County Primary School, Haslingden, showed they are the "egg-heads'' when it comes to craft, design and technology.
About 160 youngsters in 43 teams from seven schools took part in Rossendale Rotary Club's first schools' craft, design and technology competition.
The 10 and 11-year-olds were set the challenge of making a mobile fairground ride capable of carrying Cadbury's creme eggs.
The eggs were supplied by Rotary and the materials by the schools.
The winners received book token prizes and all who entered received a certificate.
The event at Alder Grange High School, Rawtenstall, was opened by the Mayor of Rossendale, Coun Alan Fishwick.
David Walmsley, a member of Rotary's Vocational Committee, said: "We have not worked with primary schools before, but all credit to them for making some wonderful models.
"We are certainly looking forward to sponsoring another competition next year when we hope to double the number of schools taking part.''
