HEALTH watchdogs were "appalled" by conditions in the psychiatric unit of an East Lancashire hospital.
Their shock report on the mental illness wards at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, said that their surprise visit was "one of the most disheartening ever made."
The report was to be discussed at a meeting of the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Community Health Council.
