"BET YOU can't." "Bet I can!" Blackburn Mayor Coun Maureen Bateson can never resist a challenge - especially when it's for charity.
Her boss at East Lancashire Coachbuilders, sales director Philip Hilton, came up with the ultimate tall order - "Get your picture in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph six times on the same evening and I'll donate £100."
No sooner said than done. For our coverage of the huge International Womens' Day event at King George's Hall, hosted by Coun Bateson, provided the perfect opportunity. And six beaming smiles later, she collected the cheque which will go to boost this year's mayoral appeal.
