TOMAS Brolin has yet to show English football the full range of his remarkable talents.

And Niklas Gudmundsson - the latest addition to Blackburn Rovers' ranks - is hoping his Swedish international team-mate does not choose tonight at Ewood Park as the time and place to do just that for Leeds United.

There is no greater admirer of Brolin's ability than Gudmundsson, who has been cleared to join Rovers' squad as his £750,000 move from Halmstad is processed.

Rovers had signed Gudmundsson on loan to the end of the season - according to the rules - though they had agreed with Halmstad to make a decision by this week.

So that now means he can bolster an injury-depleted squad against the Leeds man he rates as one of the world's best when performing at his peak.

"He showed what he can do at the top level in the World Cup in Italy," said Gudmundsson.

"But he was unfortunate with injury after that.

"He was out for a long time and I felt sorry for him, because he is such a skilful player. He can do anything with the ball and his absence certainly affected our international team.

"We have not yet seen anything like his best. He needs as many games as possible to get back to being the player he was before his injury. "There is obviously a lot more to come from him."

Brolin played only a handful of games in over a year with Parma in Italy because of a serious ankle injury.

Leeds were still willing to pay £4.5 million for him, but if things don't work out for either party there is a clause allowing the deal to be reversed at the end of the season.

Genuine fans would like to see Brolin make it big in England. So far he has scored four goals in 14 Premiership appearances.

Gudmundsson too has high hopes of doing well with Rovers.

"I am happy to stay here and I want to work as hard as I can to get into the team," he said.

"It takes time to settle into football in England but you must work hard and I will."

Leeds could be without another of their overseas stars tonight, with Tony Yeboah doubtful.

They are expected to choose from: Lukic, Kelly, Wetherall, Beesley, Radebe, Worthington, McAllister, Palmer, Ford, Yeboah, Deane, Masinga, Brolin, Pemberton, Dorigo, Gray.

The Premier League have switched the final day's programme from Saturday, May 4, to Sunday May 5 (kick-off 4pm). Rovers are at Chelsea.
