A NATIONWIDE campaign has been launched to save an animal sanctuary.
The Only Foals and Horses centre hopes to raise £200,000 to buy the Oswaldtwistle premises they now rent after it was put on sale.
The Haslingden Old Road shelter cares for around 100 animals.
Co-ordinator Olive Lomas said: "The sale could be a blessing. It's an opportunity to turn the centre into a permanent base. People have put time and effort into making the refuge work and we are proud of it."
Olive added: "One option for buying the centre would be for members of the public to adopt an animal."
"We're not asking people to pay wages or finance maintenance. It will be a one-off."
Anyone who wants to make a donation can contact Olive on (01254) 235559.
