IT'S all over for sad Blackburn Hawks. Two defeats on the opening week-end of the Premiership play-offs have all but ended any hopes of reaching the top flight.
Mike Cockayne's battle weary troops sunk to a 6-3 defeat in front of a disappointing crowd at the Arena on Saturday before being outplayed by Premiership outfit Milton Keynes Kings 24 hours later, losing 13-4.
Cockayne believes all is not lost but the Hawks need a minor miracle if they are to get any reward from a season which started so well but has simply faded away.
This weekend, the Hawks - bottom of Group A - again face the sides who look to have shattered their Premiership dreams.
On Saturday (March 16), they entertain leaders Milton Keynes Kings, favourites to retain Premiership status.
And on Sunday Ryan Kummu and company travel to Bracknell Bees who, like the Kings, are undefeated after two games.
Mathematically Hawks can still make the Premiership but realistically every fan must know the dream has died.
