WITH Mothering Sunday approaching we once again set about thinking how we can show our appreciation to our mother. I've always used the expression "It's the thought that counts" when my children ask me what would I like to receive.
Well I've got just one thing to add to that expression. Will the mother who receives a pair of oven mitts and a small ceramic "Thoughtful Tends" teddy please ask their offspring to return to the shop where they absent-mindedly forgot to pay for them.
The empty box for the teddy and the tea cosy that accompanied the oven mitts are still at the shop. I wouldn't for one minute like to think that my offspring stole something to give to me on Mothering Sunday.
