LITTER louts beware - the SCAT team are after you.
Members of Moorland High's School and Community Action Team in Darwen have been targeting the litter problem in their area.
They have been out and about tidying up the streets around the school and in just two hours they filled-up nine big black bin bags full of rubbish.
Deputy head teacher Vicky Devonport explained: "The SCAT team is made up of pupils who all volunteer their time to do various clean-up projects around the school.
"In the past we have a few complaints from neighbours of the school about the amount of litter in area.
"So the SCAT team decided to have a blitz on litter.
"They have made a big difference and a lot of people living near the school have called in to say thank-you.
"Now they will be going out picking litter up around the school perimeter once every two weeks."
The SCAT team also have an aluminium can recycling scheme and funds raised from that will be used to plant spring bulbs.
