EAST Lancashire shopping centres were deserted as stay-at-home shoppers felt the bite of the bus strike.
But the bus stoppage did not bring a big boom for taxi drivers, although some business was slightly brisker than usual.
Most people had planned ahead and done their shopping on other days. Driver Michael Porosa said: "I would say there have been just a few more customers than usual but not a big rush."
