OFFICIALS at the St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals Trust are to take part in a national programme of events which aims to advance the NHS into the next century.
A range of equipment and exhibitions will be on display at the Recreational Hall in Whiston Hospital to mark the Health Set 96 Exhibition, a new scheme which aims to show some of the technological advances made in medicine and hospitals throughout history.
Set under the banner of 'Yesteryear', there is also a special display of equipment used in days gone by.
All the exhibition stands will be manned by staff members who will be able to explain the purpose of the equipment, and visitors will also get the chance to ask their own questions.
Departments taking part in the event include paediatric services, audiology services, radiology services, cardio respiratory services, surgical services, plastic surgery and the burns centre, physiotherapy/occupational therapy, anaesthetic/theatre services, clinical audit/research and development, maintenance services/ebme/energy management/medical gases, pathology services, maternity and gynaecological unit, trauma and orthopaedic services, ophthalmology science and technology, critical care unit, resuscitation training unit, 'Yesteryear', diabetic services, and health care careers.
The Health Set 96 Exhibition will be held on Tuesday, March 19 from 10am to 8.30pm and admission is free.
