SCHOOL heads from 120 schools in the Manchester area are being invited to nominate one student each to studying Chinese society - first hand.
Holy Cross College in Bury is on the list but have not yet announced their candidate.
The trip is being made possible by the Institute of Directors , British Airways, and the Scientific Exploration Society.
Thirty young people will be short-listed to take part in a special assessment weekend in April.
And 18 students will be selected to join the 18-day Manchester Fulcrum Venture trip to Wuhan in July.
During their stay in China the students will take part in community work and study the trade, industry and commerce of the region.
When they return they will take part in a voluntary 'pay back' project which may be linked to some of the Manchester inner city schemes.
