Carnforth RFC 0 Workington 81 CARNFORTH faced title favourites Workington on Saturday and were treated to a rugby display from the Cumbrians.
Workington looked to run the ball straight from the kick-off but found the Carnforth pack in good form under intense pressure.
As the game wore on, Workington were rampant and - despite the heroic tackling of Paul Weatherill, Iain Parkinson and Mark Etherington - tries came at regular intervals for the visitors who led 36-0 at half-time.
The pressure continued in the second half but despite the score deficit, the Carnforth players can take pride from this knowing they never dropped their heads.
