Shaw 4 Heysham Atoms 54 THE Atoms kept their title hopes alive with a nine-try extravaganza against Oldham side Shaw on Saturday.
The first four tries of the game came within 15 minutes of the kick-off with the Atoms flying into a 26-0 lead putting them in total control of the game.
Those scores from Harrison, Butler, Spencley and Cambidge together with a superb performance from man-of-the-match Dorrington's boot were added to when Livingstone went over for the final score of the first half.
The Atoms were on the back foot for the the first ten minutes of the second half but a brilliant try ended by Harrison put a stop to that and Heysham went on to record yet another 50-point margin.
Saturday's fixture is still to be arranged as the matches cancelled earlier in the season due to bad weather are still to be re-arranged. TEAM: Cambidge, Weed, Harrison, Stott, Bland, Dorrington, Butler, Spencley, Helme, Hornby, Townsend, Livingstone, Walker, Fox, Trowse, Needham, Gregory.
