THE Collins English Dictionary defines Bohemia as 'a place frequented by unconventional people'. Hold on to your hats Middleton because during Easter weekend, Bohemia will be arriving in your village bringing thousands of young people to the area. Organ music and ballroom dancing will make way for light shows and dance sounds at the Bohemia weekend which will take place at the new look Middleton Tower Holiday Camp - the former Pontins site.
The regular weekend event is set to bring dance fans from all over the country to the 100-acre site which will boast 56 DJs, six arenas, two full-size theatres, a private beach and performances from live groups.
And with fears about the event already being raised among residents near the complex, the camp's managing director Mark Pearce told the Citizen that there is nothing to worry about.
He said: "Pontins left this complex in a terrible state and it has just been sat here doing nothing ever since.
"Everybody that lives in the area is frightened to death because there are a lot of young people coming here.
"This event will be run very professionally, we have got the best possible security and at the end of the day these people are coming here for the music, they are not interested in going off site."
So, if you're into bands like Shades of Rhythm, Grace and Dream Frequency, have always wanted to see Farley Jack Master Funk and have heard of such clubs as Back To The Old Skool, Rise, and Feel then Bohemia is calling.
