AN open door policy is being adopted at various Burnley Health Care NHS Trust locations for National Science Week.
The trust theme is Look Into and from today to March 25, members of the public will be invited to find out more about the health service and look behind the scenes.
National Science Week presents opportunities for the public and private sector to publicise advances in science, engineering and technology.
The trust is staging eight events during the week starting with an invitation to Look Into Child Health today and Monday to Friday March 22 - 25, at Stepping Stones Nursery, Haslingden. Contact is Nancy Tomlinson on 01706 215975, and the paediatric wards contact at Burnley General Hospital is Maureen Payne on 01282 474026.
At the same time, pupils from Edge End High School, Nelson, Habergham High School, Burnley, and Haslingden High School will be involved in Look Into Smoking.
A mobile dentist unit will primary schools in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale, and Ewood Adult Training Centre in Haslingden as part of the Looking Into The Mouth - Tooth or Fiction.
And on Saturday, March 23, the ante-natal clinic will be open as part of Looking Into Women's Health, as will the X-ray department, the ear nose and throat department and Rakehead rehabilitation centre.
Free car parking has been arranged for March 23 on the main out-patients car park on Casterton Avenue.
Members of the public are free to attend any of the events, but are advised to ring before hand to check timings.
