VILLAGERS opposed to plans for a housing scheme handed in more than 200 letters of protest at Blackburn Town Hall.
Five representatives of Tockholes - who have formed the Tockholes Action Group - took their objections to the Blackburn district plan proposals to planning staff.
Only a handful of villagers have given their approval to the draft district plan which stipulates a site in Long Lane in the village should be made available for housing development.
Carole Kancshol, from the group, said: "There are still many more forms objecting to the scheme to come in.
"We are hopeful that our opposition will force the council to abandon the scheme."
Town Hall officers held a meeting in the village hall last week to discuss the benefits of the proposals.
