THERE were a few red faces among the national newspaper representatives at yesterday's pre-match Brockhall Press conference.
"Morning Graham" came the greeting from one writer, as his colleagues approached a Rovers player asking for a few minutes to talk about his performance and goal against Leeds in midweek.
"I'm not Graham Fenton," came the stunned reply from one of the club's younger players, as embarrassed hacks apologised for the case of mistaken identity and retreated to lick their wounds.
No names no pack drill to spare their blushes. But, personally, I must admit I couldn't help laughing - loudly!
ROVERS have announced their ticket plans for the big Easter Monday clash with Newcastle United at Ewood, and the game has been made all-ticket, with no sales on the day.
In any case, it is likely to be a sellout long before then.
To enable genuine Rovers fans to have priority in the home areas, tickets will go on sale from Monday to holders of stubs from one of the home games against either Liverpool or Everton.
Sales are restricted to a maximum of four per stub.
Season-ticket holders can also buy extra seats on production of their book. Again the maximum is four.
Usual match prices apply.
AFTER his matchwinner against Leeds, Graham Fenton revealed that he was "fortunate" to receive such a good through ball from Nicky Marker for the only goal of the game.
"It was a great ball from Nicky but he's gutted. He'd backed himself to score the first goal, so it's cost him a few hundred quid," laughed the Geordie striker.
Never mind Nicky, at least there was a win bonus to collect!
SOUTHAMPTON are one of the Premier League clubs who, sadly, do not offer concessionary prices for juveniles and senior citizens, so it will be a costly visit for young and old to The Dell on Easter Saturday.
The game against Rovers on April 6 has also been made all-ticket, with no sales on the day of the match.
So fans intending to travel must buy in advance. Tickets go on open sale at Ewood from Monday, price £17, with some "restricted view" seats available, price £15.
Meanwhile, tickets for the next Premiership home game against Everton are currently on restricted sale to Rovers fans.
Supporters holding a stub from either the Liverpool or Bolton home matches can purchase up to a maximum of four seats for the Everton game.
Season-ticket holders can also buy up to four extra tickets on production of their book.
TWO Pontin's League First Division games will now be played at Ewood this season.
Problems fitting in the reserve team matches against West Brom and Derby County mean they have been re-arranged for Ewood on Monday, March 25, and Thursday, April 4, respectively.
The next reserve match is on Wednesday, March 20, away to Notts County.
THE Premier League have again put the final day's entire programme back by 24 hours from Saturday, May 4, to Sunday, May 5, with a 4pm kick-off time for all matches. Rovers visit Chelsea.
LATEST £500 Double Your Money Club winner is S Denning, Blackburn, number 410A. Rovers Return winner at the Leeds game was S Parkinson, Blackburn. Prize was £1,350 and winning number 162651.
