BRITAIN will bow its head in grief on Mother's Day to remember the children slaughtered at Dunblane and the parents who have been cruelly robbed of their loved ones.
At 9.30am tomorrow, people throughout East Lancashire, Britain and the world will join a small Scottish community in an act of mourning which will unite millions.
The one minute's silence will be observed at railways, airports, supermarkets and churches.
TV and radio stations will also join the act of remembrance, which has united political parties and touched the whole country.
Thousands of Christians across Scotland have been called to unite for two minutes of silent prayer at 11.30am.
And the Lancashire Evening Telegraph today teamed up with a Scottish paper to give readers the chance to donate to an appeal fund for families of the murdered children.
The Stirling Observer has already been flooded with cheques and cash.
Now Evening Telegraph readers can do their bit for the stricken community by donating to the Stirling Observer Dunblane Help Fund.
Money can be paid at any Royal Bank of Scotland Branch by quoting sort code 83-07-06.
The account number is 00775382.
A credit card hot-line has also been set up on 01786 446884.
And donations can be posted to the Stirling Observer, 40 Craigs, Stirling, FK8 2DN.
One of the paper's editors, David Esson, said: "We're grateful to any help your readers can give, no matter how small.
"The fund was set up 24 hours ago and already it's gone past the £10,000 mark.
"We've even had a cheque sent in from a little old lady in Devon. Every bit will help."
