DEFENSIVE errors cost Darwen dearly as they lost a match they clearly dominated at Andrew Street.
The first goal came after 20 minutes when they were hit on the break from their own corner kick. The Chadderton centre forward tore through and finished clinically.
Nigel Yates should have grabbed an equaliser but fluffed his chance in front of goal.
On the stroke of half-time Darwen hit back through Martin Horsfield.
But five minutes into the second half left back Andy Walsh committed a terrible mistake, letting a Chadderton midfield player in behind him to restore the home side's lead.
In the 65th minute Darwen were hit on the break again to go two goals down. Mark Walsh pulled a goal back in the 70th minute but it was not enough.
