THE official switch-on of new floodlighting for St James's Parish Church in Accrington is planned for Saturday, March 30, at about 6.30pm.
The ceremony will include a short speech and prayer by the Rev Frederick Cooke, and a speech by the deputy mayor, Coun Doug Hayes.
Afterwards a "sing-a-long Messiah" is being held in the church in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Admission to the Messiah costs £2.50 per person.
The floodlighting scheme is one of a programme of improvements in Accrington town centre.
