BAD weather has forced a hold-up on construction of the M65 extension.
Contractors Amec, responsible for phase two of the M65 through Blackburn, have been unable to go ahead with delicate work lifting a bridge into place over Roman Road, close to Davyfield Road.
The Roman Road route was closed all weekend, while cranes were in place to lift heavy parts of the bridge to the overpass. But Amec said high winds and wet conditions made it impossible.
A spokesperson continued: "We are liaising with police and will either continue with the work overnight or during another weekend in the near future."
