THE GOVERNMENT was expected to decide this summer which route it preferred for the long-awaited link between the M65 and M6/61.
The Green Route - a by-pass to the south of Blackburn - was likely to be the eventual choice, county councillors were told at a meeting with Transport Minister Peter Bottomley. Further survey work was due to be completed and the Government was expected to publish its findings then.
