I PLAY Audrey in 'Coronation Street' and I would like to ask the knitters among you to take up your needles to help find a cure for arthritis.
As Alf (played by Bryan Mosley) will tell you, much too readily, I often get in a tangle: but now I'm getting into a tangle for a very good cause. I'm launching the Arthritis and Rheumatism Council's special Diamond Jubilee sponsored Knational Knit-In for arthritis research.
If anyone would like to join me, I can assure them it is quite simple: you just need to knit squares, for which you will get sponsors, with the proceeds going to ARC. All you need do is drop me a line, as below, and I will get a leaflet back to you quicker than Alf can nip into the Rovers.
SUE NICHOLS, Knational Knit-In, Arthritis and Rheumatism Council, St Mary's Court, Chesterfield, Derbys. S41 7TD.
