SENIOR SCHOOL manager Brian Dunning has been chosen as the Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Rossendale and Darwen.
Australian-born Mr Dunning moved to Bolton at the age of nine, then served a mechanical engineering apprenticeship at British Aerospace.
He is now a senior manager at Woodhey High School, Ramsbottom.
A keen sportsman, he played in the Bolton Wanderers youth team in the early sixties and later turned part-time professional with Stockport County and Darwen FC.
He has stood as a candidate for Blackburn Council and was Liberal Democrat candidate for Bolton North East at the last General Election.
Mr Dunning's wife, Lynn, is a keen horse enthusiast and they have a smallholding at Yate and Pickup Bank. he has a son and daughter.
