STABBING victim Mark Richmond died from a single wound to his heart, a post-mortem examination has revealed.
Blackburn-born Mark, 27, who was working as a barman on Lanzarote, was found dying in the street in the resort of Puerto del Carmen last week.
Two of his flatmates have been remanded in custody on the island in connection with his death.
Mark's family, who used to live in Rishton, have revealed that bosses at MD Foods in Bamber Bridge, where Mark once worked, have offered to pay the estimated £3,000 bill to fly his body home.
"It is a very kind gesture and has taken a great weight off our minds," said his brother, Paul, of Preston.
The family hope Mark's body will be flown home early next week.
Dean Waterton, 25, of Orpington, Kent, and Danny Burns, 20, of Chester, who shared an apartment with Mark in Arrecife, are being held in prison on the island.
Mark's father, Peter, was a police constable in Rishton and Great Harwood in the 1970s before the family moved to New Longton, Preston.
